The present invention relates to a light emitting diode having a nano-facet structure which is formed on a light exiting surface of a light emitting diode and improves light extraction efficiency, and a method for manufacturing the same. The light emitting diode according to the present invention has an irregular structure formed on the light exiting surface from which light generated from the light emitting surface emits, and a nano-facet which is made of a material which has a lower reflective index than a material constituting the light exiting surface on the surface of the recess structure.
