A METHOD OF SENSING CODED RECORDS

A method sensing coded data. A stack of sheets is received into a sheet access area of an Automated Banking Machine. The sheet access area extends between a first sheet engaging member and a second sheet engaging member. A picker removes sheets from the stack one sheet at a time. A radiation sensor is disposed transversely and outside the sheet access area and is operative to receive radiation reflected from an angular reflective piece operatively attached to the first sheet engaging member or the second sheet engaging member. The radiation sensor determines whether a sheet is present in the sheet access area. A sheet processor device analyzes data included on the sheets.
