<p>The present invention relates to a device and a method for recognizing a vehicle changing a lane using the recognition of an ambient lane enabling safe driving. The device for recognizing the vehicle changing the lane using the recognition of the ambient lane includes a video input unit recording videos of the front side of and surroundings around a user′s own vehicle which is driving; a driving lane recognition unit connected to the video input unit and recognizing a driving lane of the user′s own vehicle from the video inputted into the video input unit; an ambient land recognition unit connected to the video input unit and recognizing an ambient lane in the outer side of the driving lane from the video inputted into the video input unit; a vehicle recognition unit connected to the video input unit, extracting a lane candidate group by extracting vertical and horizontal edges from the video inputted into the video input unit, and recognizing whether the lane is taken or not; and a control unit determining the risk of collision according to whether the ambient vehicle recognized by the vehicle recognition unit approaches the lane that the user desires to change or not when the user changes the driving lane recognized by the driving lane recognition unit and warning the risk to the user.</p> |
