[Class 132 (i)] A roundabout has a plurality of radial arms 4 each having passenger carrying means 1 which may represent an animal or a vehicle at its outer end and each so hingedly attached at its inner end 5 to a support member 6, which is rotatable about a vertical axis, that said radial arms 4 are in addition rotatable about a horizontal axis and a plurality of connecting rods 9 each attached at its outer end 10 to radial arm intermediate its ends and each hingedly attached at its inner end 11 to means rotatable about a second support member 14, in which the horizontal displacement between the vertical axes of the support member and said means rotatable about the second support member is adjustable. The collar 12 is adjustably mounted to be raised and lowered, e.g. by hydraulic means, on an inclined column 13 which is attached to a member 14 rotatable independently of the turret 6 as shown in Fig. 4. As shown in Fig. 1 when the collar 12 is at its lowest point all the platforms 1 for passengers are level with a loading platform 40 but as shown in Fig. 2 on raising the collar 12 some arms 4 are lifted so that on rotating the members 6 and 14 at different rates and/or in different directions the arms, and hence the platforms 1, execute an up and down movement while rotating. By suitable gearing both 6 and 14 may be driven by the same motor. On each platform 1 there are chairs 2 which may be free to pivot on their mounting.
