Provided are a file management method and device. The method comprises: acquiring indexes of application identifiers corresponding to a designated application on a terminal from a pre-set index database, wherein there is an association relationship between the indexes and file information generated when the designated application is installed or operated, and the indexes are in one-to-one correspondence with the application identifiers; and according to the indexes and the association relationship, managing the file information. By means of the technical solution provided in the present invention, the technical problem in the related art that the workload for manual maintenance is relatively large when files related to applications are managed is solved, thereby saving manual workload for file management, increasing the disk usage rate and improving the user experience. |
