PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for reducing body weight and methods for treating obesity in humans.SOLUTION: A method for reducing body weight and treating obesity comprises administering a nutritionally effective amount of a conjugated linoleic acid to humans. The conjugated linoleic acid is fed in a pill or as a component of a prepared food in the form of a free fatty acid or its chemical derivative. A method for treating obesity in humans is also provided. The method comprises orally administering a therapeutically effective amount of the conjugated linoleic acid. Preferably, the nutritionally effective amount or the therapeutically effective amount of the conjugated linoleic acid is about 0.1-15 g per day. |
