<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for moving a blast furnace main trough cover, which can secure the safety of an inspection/maintenance worker of a main trough at either of tap holes, in the blast furnace main trough cover moving device which is commonly used in front of the two adjacent tap holes. <P>SOLUTION: The device for moving a blast furnace main trough cover comprises: a turning post 9 which is horizontally and rotatably held by a turning drive unit 10b; and an arm 11 which is vertically movably held by an ascending/descending drive unit 10a, has a pivot for supporting vertical movement generated by an ascending/descending drive receiving part of the ascending/descending drive unit and ascending/descending drive at a turning post side, has a hanging part 12 for hanging up the main trough at the end at a side opposite to the turning post, and has a stopper device (constituted of a stopper 15, a hydraulic cylinder 14 and a receiver 16) for limiting the moving range of the main trough cover moving device.
