<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side support device capable of stably holding a sitting person on a seat for a vehicle in relation to large lateral acceleration acting on the vehicle and surely deploying a side airbag without preventing inflation of the side airbag. <P>SOLUTION: In a support body 41, a metal paddle 41M is provided as a main strength member and at least a surface of the metal paddle 41M and an edge end portion 41Md of the metal paddle 41M projecting from a seat back side member 21R to a side are coated with synthetic resin. The support body 41 includes an abutting section 413P attachably/detachably abutting on a first shaft member 43 in an intermediate section 41Pb of the support body 41 and a pivotal support hole 414P pivotally supported on a second shaft member 44 at a base end section 41Pc of the support body 41. When a distal end section 41 Pa of the support body 41 is pushed to the front by inflation of the side airbag 6, the abutting of the abutting section 413P and the first shaft member 43 is released to rotate with the second shaft member 44 as a center. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
