<p>A lamp unit includes a gas discharge lamp with an essentially constant lamp current applied thereto, and a temperature control element adjustable via a control unit, and being a cooling element for cooling the gas discharge lamp. A method for operating the lamp unit includes: (a) determining an actual value of a lamp voltage by a voltage sensor, (b) transmitting the actual value of the lamp voltage to the control unit, (c) comparing the actual value with a desired value of the lamp voltage by the control unit, and (d) outputting a control signal via the control unit to the cooling element for setting the cooling power.</p> |
