The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a dental restoration. More specifically, a method for manufacturing a dental restoration, with respect to treatment of dental caries, is formed to detect an area needed to be removed when treating dental caries, in advance so as to secure objectivity in treating the dental caries and accurately restore teeth treated based on the previously detected area needed be removed. The method for manufacturing a dental restoration in accordance with the present invention comprises the steps of: collecting a three-dimensional image of dental caries and an area map of the dental caries by scanning the dental caries; making an area map of the area needed be removed based on the three-dimensional image of dental caries and the area map of the dental caries; and making a conformational map of a dental restoration based on the three-dimensional image of dental caries and the area map of the area needed be removed. According to the method and the apparatus for manufacturing a dental restoration of the present invention, with respect to treatment of dental caries, the area needed be removed is automatically and accurately detected, so objectivity in treating the dental caries is secured, and the dental restoration capable of accurately restoring teeth treated based on the previously detected area needed to be removed is provided. In addition, the time required to treat dental caries is saved by combining formation of the dental restoration and treatment of the dental caries or manufacturing the dental restoration prior to the treatment of the dental caries. |
