Disclosed is a broadcast receiving apparatus. The apparatus may comprise: a data storage unit; a communication unit which receives a first electronic program guide (EPG) via a broadcast network and receives a second EPG via an Internet network; and a control unit. The control unit can generate first broadcasting-related information by processing the first EPG, generate second broadcasting-related information by processing the second EPG, and store the first and second broadcasting-related information in the data storage unit by building databases having data structures different from each other. The control unit, upon receiving a request for broadcast-related information from a running application, can selectively search the database corresponding to at least one of the first and second broadcasting-related information, acquire the requested broadcasting-related information and transmit the acquired broadcasting-related information to the application. |
