Provided in embodiments of the present invention are a synchronization method, base station, and user equipment. The method comprises: an unlicensed spectrum base station completes radio channel preemption of an unlicensed spectrum at a first time node (101); the unlicensed spectrum base station determines a second time node, where the second time node is a subframe boundary at where the base station begins to transmit valid subframes (102); the unlicensed spectrum base station intensively transmits a synchronization signal during a first time period between the first time node and the second time node to facilitate a user equipment (UE) in completing uplink synchronization in the first time period (103); and, the base station begins to transmit the valid subframes at the second time node (104). By means of intensive transmission of a synchronization signal by an unlicensed spectrum base station when a radio channel of an unlicensed spectrum is preempted, the embodiments of the present invention allow a UE to complete synchronization with an unlicensed spectrum cell or base station, thus allowing the utilization of an unlicensed spectrum for data transmission to begin as early as possible, and increasing the utilization rate of unlicensed spectrum resources.
