<p>Provided is a mouth-closing aid with which anyone can easily insert stuffing around the epiglottis. This mouth-closing aid (1) comprises: a rod-shaped curved portion (10) which is formed in a curved shape corresponding to the shape of the palate from the oral cavity to the pharynx; a pressing portion (20) which is connected to one end of the curved portion (10) and a distal end face of which is formed larger than an end face of the curved portion (10); a holding portion (30) which is connected to another end of the curved portion (10) and which is to be held with the hand; and a stuffing inserting portion (40) which is connected to the holding portion (30) on a side opposite the side connected with the curved portion (10) and which is formed in a flat plate-shape. An operator first pushes in the stuffing from the corpse's mouth to near a boundary between the oral cavity and pharynx with a distal end portion of the stuffing inserting portion (40). Then, the operator inserts the pressing portion (20) and curved portion (10) from the corpse's mouth along the palate, and with the distal end face of the pressing portion (20), presses and pushes in the stuffing inserted near the boundary between the oral cavity and pharynx so as to place the stuffing around the epiglottis.</p> |
