An image forming unit comprising: (a) an image carrier; (b) a developer carrier that is arranged inside a developer container that contains a developer, and forms a developer image by attaching the developer to an electrostatic latent image on a surface of the image carrier; (c) a first developer supply member that is arranged inside the developer container and supplies the developer to the developer carrier; (d) a seal member that has a fixed end and a free end, and prevents the developer inside the developer container from leaking out, wherein (e) the fixed end of the seal member is fixed on a case that forms the developer container, and the free end of the seal member is in contact with the developer carrier at a position in a rotation direction of the developer carrier between a first contact part at which the image carrier and the developer carrier are in contact with each other and a second contact part at which the developer carrier and the first developer supply member are in contact with each other, (f) the case has a first wall part that extends from the fixed end of the seal member obliquely downward with respect to a vertical direction and a second wall part that continues from the first wall part and extends along an outer peripheral surface of the first developer supply member, and (g) a first distance between an inner peripheral surface of the first wall part and the outer peripheral surface of the first developer supply member becomes smaller with increasing distance from the fixed end of the seal member.
