An embodiment of the present invention provides an ultrasonic medical device and a control method therefor, the ultrasonic medical device comprising: a transducer array which comprises a plurality of sub-arrays, each consisting of one or more elements, and which transmits unfocused ultrasound waves to an object and receives a reflected signal from the object; a delay signal generating unit for generating a delay signal by setting, for each of the elements, a first delay for the reflected signal on the basis of one or more reference scan lines corresponding to positions on the transducer array; an adding unit for generating a sum signal by summing the delay signal of each of the sub-arrays; and an image synthesis unit for synthesizing an image frame by setting a second delay for the sum signal of each image generation scan line with respect to the image frame to be generated.
