PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can generate a wide dynamic range image with high image quality for each field even when a moving image is photographed.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: an optical system 101 and an imaging device 102 for photographing a subject image; a photographic parameter control circuit 111 for controlling a photographic parameter; an image synthesis circuit 115 for synthesizing a plurality of images including photographed first image and second image, in which exposure values differ; and an image evaluation circuit 109 for detecting pixels whose luminance is lower than first luminance or pixels whose luminance is higher than second luminance higher than the first luminance in the pixels of the first image. A photographic parameter control circuit 111 controls the photographic parameter of the second image in response to a detection result by the image evaluation circuit 109.
