A run-flat tire (10) has: a carcass (22) straddling a pair of bead sections (12); tire side sections (14) for connecting a tread section (16) and the bead sections (12) to each other and configured so that positions which define the maximum width of the carcass (22) are provided on the outside, in the radial direction of the tire, of positions at a height of 40% of the height of a cross-section of the tire; and side reinforcement layers (26) provided on the inside of the carcass in the width direction of the tire and configured so that the thickness of the side reinforcement layers (26) measured at the positions at a height of 40% of the height of the cross-section of the tire is 65% or less of the thickness thereof at the positions defining the maximum width of the carcass. |
