METHOD FOR PRODUCING WOOD CONTAINING CALCIUM BORATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing wood containing calcium borate derived from colemanite in a state of non-needle-like crystal. ! SOLUTION: Calcium borate is precipitated in an amorphous state by adjusting the pH of an acidic impregnation liquid to basic, the impregnation liquid being obtained by immersing colemanite in a strongly acidic aqueous solution of a specific pH. Wood containing calcium borate derived from colemanite in a state of non-needle-like crystal is produced by: precipitating calcium borate in an amorphous state from the acidic impregnation liquid containing calcium borate inside the wood; or impregnating fine particles of calcium phosphate into pores of the wood after pulverizing and/or crushing powder of calcium borate in an amorphous state recovered from the acidic impregnation liquid. !
