The method (100) includes the step of twisting (112) a first wire (12) and a second wire (14) together to form a twisted pair (16). The method (100) further includes the step of wrapping (116) tape (18) around the twisted pair (16) with an effective amount of tension (34) on the tape (18) such that a separation distance (20) between the first wire (12) and second wire (14) does not substantially vary along the length of the twisted pair (16).
