The present invention presents a method and an apparatus for maximizing the efficiency of collecting energy and transmitting the same to a battery for a low leakage current value regulated to be several μA to several mA by applying an energy harvesting technology. The method for harvesting energy using leakage power allows a leakage current to charge a capacitor through an electrode when a contacting unit is connected to an electronic device where the leakage current is generated, and enables electric energy of the capacitor to be transmitted to the battery by having an interface device connected to the capacitor when the charged voltage of the capacitor reaches or exceeds a certain value.
