<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that reduces switching noise upon processing image data.SOLUTION: A processor (scaler 14) of an image display device (projector 1) is configured to develope background image data, which is image data configured in a prescribed color information format, in a frame memory 15 via a data bus (bus B) for each prescribed bit number, and a display unit (projection unit 3) is configured to display a background image based on the background image data developed in the frame memory 15. When generating division data obtained by dividing color information for each one pixel into n sub-divisions for each prescribed bit number; calculating the number of erect bits which is the number of bits having 1 erected for each sub-division data item; calculating a difference in the number of erect bits between n-divided sub-division data items; and calculating the total value of the difference in the number of erect bits as a difference total value, the background image data is included in a lower 50% when sorting out in descending order of the difference total value as to color information having a brightness gradation level more than 90% satisfied.</p> |
