<p>The present invention relates to a mediation server system using both a device and biometric authentication and a method for operating the same. The mediation server system: performs authentication on a purchaser terminal by using an ESN, which is a device unique number of a purchaser terminal with respect to payment between a seller terminal and the purchaser terminal; uses biometric information generated from biometric data such as a fingerprint, an iris of a purchaser; is configured to provide additional information, including a payment amount, information of seller′s account, and a mobile phone number, and credit card data of the purchaser with respect to a payment server while authenticating the purchaser; and thus provides compatibility with an existing payment system. The mediation server system includes: the seller terminal which provides, to the purchaser terminal, payment information, including sold item information, a payment amount, and information of seller′s account, and a mobile phone number regarding sales of a product and a service to the purchaser; the purchaser terminal which reads and sends payment information provided from the seller′s terminal, biometric information received from the purchaser, and an electronic serial number (ESN), which is a device unique number, to a mediation server; and the mediation server which receives the payment information, biometric information, and the ESN from the purchaser terminal, searches credit card data corresponding to the ESN and the biometric information from a purchaser information DB, and transmits the credit card data with the payment information to the mediation server; and a payment server which performs payment with the payment information and the credit card data transmitted from the mediation server and transmits approval information to the mediation server.</p> |
