PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a new wheel speed sensor capable of advantageously manufacturing a wheel speed sensor of a new structure capable of stably securing waterproofness in the lead-out part of an output wire, at a low cost, regardless of the material of the covering member of the output wire for the wheel speed sensor, and the wheel speed sensor obtained by such the new manufacturing method.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a wheel speed sensor includes: a primary molding step of forming a waterproof member attaching part 64 having a smooth outer peripheral surface in a primary molded article 104; a secondary molding step of integrally molding a cover part 22 for burying and covering a rotation detection element 28 and a part of an output wire 30 and a locking protrusion 72 in a state that the rotation detection element 28 and the output wire 30 are inserted into the primary molded article 104; a waterproof member mounting step of closely fixing a fastening part 86 formed on the waterproof member 14 to the waterproof member attaching part 64; and an outer cylinder member mounting step of externally inserting and mounting an outer cylinder member 16 onto a waterproof member 14 and making an engaging part 90 formed in the outer cylinder member 16 be engaged with the locking protrusion 72. |
