The present invention relates to a weight-loss composition containing a water-soluble egg yolk extract as an active ingredient as well as a food composition and a pharmaceutical composition thereof. The present invention contains the water-soluble egg yolk extract including IgY to lower the feed efficiency and reduces the weight to suppress obesity and be efficient for weight loss. The composition maintains the total cholesterol level and LDL cholesterol level, reduces the triglyceride level, and increases the high-density cholesterol which is known to be beneficial. Accordingly, the present invention can provide the food composition and the pharmaceutical composition for weight loss without side effects.
