PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection head in which ink infiltration into an ejection port forming member is suppressed.SOLUTION: A liquid ejection head comprises: a substrate 2; and on the substrate 2, a flow channel forming member forming an ejection port 7 for ejecting liquid and a liquid flow channel 5 communicating with the ejection port 7. The flow channel forming member includes an inside liquid repellent layer 10 which includes fluorine component and has a surface having a contact angle to pure water of 70° or more, on an upper wall surface of the liquid flow channel 5 or a side closer to an orifice surface side than the upper wall surface and closer to the substrate 2 side than the orifice surface. Ink infiltration into the ejection port forming member is suppressed since the flow channel forming member includes the inside liquid repellent layer 10.
