<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cutting insert which can enhance the strength of a cutting blade and reduce the finished surface roughness of a material to be cut even when the cutting blade has a wiper cutting blade.SOLUTION: A cutting insert comprises a polygonal top face, a lower face, a side face, and a cutting blade. The cutting blade has a corner cutting blade and a wiper cutting blade. In a cross section passing the corner cutting blade, a first honing face of a convex curve shape is formed so as to be connected with the side face smoothly in a region where the top face and the side face intersect. In a cross section passing the wiper cutting blade, a portion including a top edge that is continuous to the wiper cutting blade in at least the side face is a linear shape, and a second honing face of a convex curve shape is formed so as to intersect the side face in the region where the top face and the side face intersect.</p> |
