<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device and a transmission method that reduce electric power consumption while decreasing a circuit scale.SOLUTION: A separation unit 25 has an ODU4 separation unit 41, two ODU3 separation units 42, ten ODU2 separation units 43 and a selector 44. The ODU4 separation unit 41 extracts HO-ODU3#1, HO-ODU3#2, HO-ODU2#1 and HO-ODU2#2 from the HO-ODU4. The ODU3 separation unit 42A extracts LO-ODU2#1 to #4 from the HO-ODU3#1 extracted at the ODU4 separation unit 41, and extracts LO-MSI information of the HO-ODU3#1. The ODU3 separation unit 42A outputs data of LO-ODU2#1 to #4 in the HO-ODU3#1 to the selector 44 and notifies the selector 44 of the LO-MSI information of the ODU3#1. Such notifications to the selector 44 are also performed at the ODU3 separation unit 42B, ODU2 separation unit 43A and ODU2 separation unit 43B.</p> |
