PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion battery.SOLUTION: A lithium ion battery comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and an electrolyte. The positive electrode includes: first carbon nanotube paper; and a positive electrode piece. The positive electrode piece is set on a surface of the first carbon nanotube paper. The negative electrode includes: second carbon nanotube paper; and a negative electrode piece. The negative electrode piece is set on a surface of the second carbon nanotube paper. The positive electrode is laminated together with the negative electrode. The positive electrode piece is opposed to the negative electrode piece; the positive and negative electrode pieces are set with a space left therebetween. The electrolyte is set between the positive and negative electrode pieces.
