PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide production equipment which can produce highly-pure carbonyl sulfide industrially and stably and has high corrosion resistance.SOLUTION: The production equipment includes a heating furnace 20 heating and vaporizing sulfur, and a metal reacting furnace 30 producing carbonyl sulfide by reacting the sulfur heated and vaporized in the heating furnace, with carbon monoxide. A protective coat is formed on the internal surface of the reacting furnace 30 by forming an iron oxide film on the internal surface then subjecting the internal surface to heat treatment using sulfur heated and vaporized by the heating furnace.
