The present invention concerns a machine for polishing piston rings for internal combustion engines, and the operation method thereof via a computer program. This machine is fully automatic. The invention consists of the following main elements: ring clamping device (5); claws system (3); polishing system (4); power supply (16); discharge system (6), a suction system (19), a security system, a workbench (1) with cover (23) and a computer (25) being intended to carry out the polishing rings (10) with using a computer program.
