[Problem] To provide a means whereby an electrical device such as a lithium-ion secondary battery that has a positive electrode using a solid-solution positive-electrode active material can be provided with satisfactory performance in terms of rate characteristics while sufficiently making use of the high capacity characteristics that characterize solid-solution positive-electrode active materials. [Solution] An electrical device that has an electricity-generating element containing the following: positive electrodes each obtained by forming, on the surface of a positive-electrode collector, a positive-electrode active-material layer containing a positive-electrode active material; negative electrodes each obtained by forming, on the surface of a negative-electrode collector, 3 to 11 mg/cm2 of a negative-electrode active-material layer containing a negative-electrode active material; and separators. The negative-electrode active-material layer contains the negative-electrode active material represented by formula (1), the positive-electrode active-material layer contains the positive-electrode active material (solid-solution positive-electrode active material) represented by formula (2), and a solid-solution positive-electrode active material that is represented by formula (3) and has a prescribed amount of a coating layer comprising an oxide or complex oxide of a metal or metals selected from the group consisting of aluminum, zirconium, and titanium formed on the surfaces of the particles therein is used as the solid-solution positive-electrode active material in the positive-electrode active-material layer. |
