<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing an electrode on a developing cartridge side and an electrode on the side of a support wall for supporting a photoreceptive drum from being rubbed against each other and abraded. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a photoreceptor on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, a support wall (a main body frame 220) for supporting the photoreceptor, a developing cartridge 62 including a developing roller for supplying a developer to the photoreceptor and detachably provided in the support wall, a cartridge-side electrode 620 provided in the side surface 621 of the developing cartridge 62 in the attachment and detachment direction of the developing cartridge 62, a support wall-side electrode 200 provided in the support wall and coming into contact with the cartridge-side electrode 620, and an elastic member (a coil spring 210) for energizing one of the cartridge-side electrode 620 and the support wall-side electrode 200 toward the other.
