<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle fan device increasing braking force to be obtained by driving a fan for cooling an engine. <P>SOLUTION: This fan device includes: a fan 14 connected to an output shaft 11a of the engine 11 via a fan clutch 13 to form an air flow flowing toward the engine 11; and a control device 20 for controlling the fan clutch 13 so that the fan 14 is continuously connected to the output shaft 11a when an auxiliary brake mounted on the vehicle is in an operation state. The fan device further includes an opening/closing mechanism 16 arranged to cover the engine 11 on a side opposite the fan 14 with respect to the engine 11. The opening/closing mechanism 16 is set to an open state for allowing passage of the air flow 15 formed by the fan 14 and a closed state for shutting off the passing of the air flow 15 formed by the fan 14 by the control device 20.
