In an aspect herein is provided an electrode catalyst for a fuel cell including a carbonaceous carrier and a metal catalyst supported in the carbonaceous carrier, wherein an amino C 6 -C 30 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compound is non-covalently bonded to the surface of the carbonaceous carrier, an electrode comprising said catalyst and a fuel cell including the electrode catalyst and electrode.
