A control unit 12 for a climate control system for a vehicle comprises a monitoring module 46 that monitors a demand representing an environmental parameter change within the vehicle and/or an active user input relating to an environmental parameter within the vehicle. A control policy 48 configures at least one climate control element (28, 30, 32, 34, 36, Fig. 1). A feedback module 42 receives the demand from the monitoring module 46 and a simulated control policy from a simulation module 44 and updates the control policy 48. An implementation module 40 then controls climate control elements (28, 30, 32, 34, 36, Fig. 1) in accordance with the updated control policy 48. The feedback module 42 may receive a demand from environmental sensors (16, 18, 20, 22, 24, Fig. 1). The feedback module 42 and simulation module 44 may use a state-action-reward-state-action or SARSA algorithm and the control policy may comprise a changeable rulebook and a fixed protocol. |
