PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods of vaccination and pharmaceutical combinations and kits for enhancing vaccine effectiveness, including those for immunodeficient or immunocompromised patients, including non-responders and low responders to vaccination.SOLUTION: A method for vaccinating a subject comprises administering a vaccine to the subject, and administering thymosin peptide to the subject with a dose and regimen effective for providing increased antibody titers, speeding the development of antibody titers, and/or enhancing the duration of the antibody titers, compared to administering the vaccine alone. In another aspect, the invention makes it possible to reduce a vaccine dose, such as an influenza or hepatitis vaccine dose, by administration with a thymosin peptide regimen.
