PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost and improve reliability.SOLUTION: A wavelength conversion member 10 includes: a fluorescent light body layer 14 for converting light emitted from a semiconductor light-emitting element 11 into light having a longer wavelength; a second waveguide 18 for guiding light converted in wavelength by the fluorescent light body layer 14; a diffraction grating 19 which the light guided by the second waveguide 18 enters and which has an electro-optical effect; and an electrode 21 for applying an electric field to the diffraction grating 19. According to this configuration, since the light converted in wavelength enters the diffraction grating 19 having the electro optical-effect, the application of the electric field to the diffraction grating 19 can obtain the effect of reducing the cost or improving the reliability, while the light emitted from the diffraction grating 19 can be switched.
