PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for growing algae by which aquaculture of such as mass of Hizikia fusiformis can be efficiently performed.SOLUTION: Provided are block bodies, to at least each of whose one surface, an adhesion part formed as a rough surface is provided all over, and to each of which provided is a through hole opened through a pair of counter surfaces other than the surface where the adhesion part is provided. The method comprises: a germ cell adhesion period, in which the plural block bodies are arranged on a bottom face of a water tank in a manner that their adhesion parts serve as an upper surface and there are no gap between their side surfaces where adjacent blocks come in contact with each other, and germ cells of an alga are put in the water tank and adheres to the adhesion parts; an intermediate growing period, in which a connecting member is inserted to the through holes of the block bodies to which the germ cells are adhering in a state of the plural block bodies closely contacting with each other, with the connecting member attached therethrough, and algae grows in a condition where the plural block bodies are suspended in water by the connecting member; and a growing period in sea water, in which the algae after the intermediate growing period are installed to a relocation place in sea water by the connecting member wholly with the block bodies. |
