Provided are a gas sensor capable of selectively sensing methylbenzene gas, and a method to manufacture the same. According to the gas sensor of the present invention, a gas sensitive layer consists of palladium (Pd)-added tin oxide (SnO_2) yolk structural fine powder (Pd-loaded SnO_2 yolk shell spheres). The gas sensor has an effect of having negligibly small sensitivity to benzene, formaldehyde, alcohol, etc. while having very high selectivity and sensitivity to methylbenzene gas such as xylene, toluene, etc.
