An organic light-emitting component (10) is disclosed in examples of different embodiments. The organic light-emitting component (10) has a first electrode (20), an organic functional layer structure for generating light, said layer structure lying above the first electrode, and a second electrode (23) above the organic functional layer structure (22). The organic functional layer structure (22) has at least one layer comprising an organic carrier material and nano-additions. The carrier material has a first refractive index. The nano-additions are embedded in the carrier material and have a second refractive index which is greater than the first refractive index. The nano-additions have at least one outer dimension that is less than a quarter of a predefined wavelength of the generated light.
