PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preform in which generation of damages on the top surface of its mouth part and on the inner peripheral surface is reduced during a transportation without deteriorating productivity.SOLUTION: A preform 10 for a plastic bottle is provided, the preform being sealed by a screw-in type cap 60 at least comprising an inner ring 65 and having a mouth part 20 without a crystallization treatment. The mouth part 20 comprises: a top surface 22; an outer surface 23 extending from the top surface 22; and an inner peripheral surface 24 extending from the top surface 22 and contacting the inner ring 65. A screw 25 to be screwed to the cap 60 is formed on the outer peripheral surface 23. A chamfered part 30 is formed on the ridge line of a junction between the top surface 22 and the inner peripheral surface 24.
