The invention relates to a building that can withstand earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes. The invention comprises a buoyant convertible portion (1) that has a spherical, oval or annular shape, since such shapes exhibit the greatest mechanical strength. Said shapes also have very low wind resistance, which enables said shapes to withstand tornadoes and cyclones, as well as excellent buoyancy, which allows said shapes to withstand tidal waves and floods. The openings (2) in the convertible portion seal in order to keep the building buoyant and withstand rain. The building is secured to the soil by an anchor system (3) enabling said building to rise, float and return to its original position. In order to damp tremors from earthquakes, the building rests on loose soil, sand or in water (4). |
