摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy which is made lightweight and furthermore whose fire retardancy can be secured, and a production method thereof, a body structure of a rolling stock and a body structure of traffic transportation means.SOLUTION: Calcium is added to the magnesium alloy in the production thereof in order to secure fire retardancy as a material characteristic, and an Mg-Al-Zn-Ca alloy or an Mg-Al-Mn-Ca alloy is preferable. The magnesium alloy cannot exert sufficient effect of fire retardancy when calcium content is less than 0.5 mass%, and becomes brittle to generate crack in rolling when the content is 2.0 mass% or more, so that it is preferable to contain calcium in an amount of 0.5 mass% or more and less than 2.0 mass%. In the magnesium alloy, crack occurs in rolling when rolling temperature is less than 200°C, and crystal grains are recrystallized to become softer when the temperature exceeds 350°C, so that it is preferable to perform rolling working at a rolling temperature of 200°C or more and 350°C or less.
