A power controlling apparatus for controlling electrical power delivered from a phase-cut AC power source to a load, said apparatus comprising: a rectifying means converting the AC power to DC power; a switched-mode power converter with the input coupled to the DC power and the output coupled to the load; and current controlling means to regulate the input current from the power source to the converter through control of the output and efficiency of the converter, wherein the efficiency of the converter is controlled through controlling the dissipative loss of at least one power switch of the converter; wherein the converter is controlled by a bleed controller comprising an analog-OR gate. |
