One method includes extracting a plurality of two-dimensional spaces from a building information model of a facility, determining a plurality of connections between the plurality of spaces, defining a zone of the facility, wherein the zone includes a subset of the plurality of spaces and a subset of the plurality of connections between the spaces, and associating an access reader with a particular connection of the subset of the plurality of connections located on a boundary of the zone. |
