<p>The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a superhydrophobic carbon nanotube and a carbon nanotube manufactured thereby. The method of manufacturing a superhydrophobic carbon nanotube comprises: a step of heating the carbon nanotube; a step of passing a liquid halogenated material through the carbon nanotube using carrier gas, and forming a buffer layer on the surface of the carbon nanotube; a step of passing a liquid organic solvent through the carbon nanotube using the carrier gas, and forming an amorphous carbon layer on the buffer layer; and a step of cooling the carbon nanotube. With a formation of the buffer layer and a simple gas (solvent bubbling) treatment process regardless of a manufacturing method of a multiwalled carbon nanotube, the present invention enables to change a surface feature of the multiwalled carbon nanotube into superhydrophobicity. The present invention is economical since a process is simple and a consumption expense is a little, and has a possibility of various applications with high durability since a feature change is done through a strong chemical combination.</p> |
