PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable improvement in read accuracy of a barcode symbol, and to decrease a read retry operation of the barcode symbol.SOLUTION: An ID reader includes: a recording medium C; an ID display unit 22; an accessor 13 that is provided at a location facing the ID display unit 22 and is movably along an array direction of a plurality of cells 16; an optical reader unit that is integrally provided with the accessor 13, and optically reads an ID displayed in the ID display unit 22; and a control unit that controls the optical read unit. When the ID is not read the number of prescribed times or over a prescribed time, the control unit is configured to set an exposure value of the optical read unit at a different value to cause the ID to be read again by the optical read unit, and when the ID is not read even if the exposure value is changed the number of prescribed times, relatively moves the optical read unit and the cell 16 including the ID of a read object to cause the ID to be read again. |
