PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver capable of performing a channel scan using one reception system while reducing time required for the channel scan.SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiver (1) performs: first phase processing of executing a channel scan on the whole frequency band of a digital broadcast of a first broadcast system to detect a viewable channel of the first broadcast system before registering the channel with a storage unit (24), and detecting a viewable channel candidate of a second broadcast system on the basis of reception power before storing the candidate in a channel temporary storage unit (26) in the process of the channel scan on the whole frequency band of the digital broadcast of the first broadcast system; and second phase processing of executing a channel scan on a viewable channel candidate of the second broadcast system stored in the channel temporary storage unit (26) to detect a viewable channel of the second broadcast system before registering the channel with the storage unit (24).
