PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trial operation method of a cogeneration system capable of smoothly implementing a trial operation of a thermoelectric cogeneration device even when at least one of a water supply source and a drainage destination of the cogeneration system has a temporary state.SOLUTION: A trial operation method of a cogeneration system includes a water supply starting process for starting supply of hot water from a water supply source to a hot water storage tank, a first determination process for determining whether an amount of hot water supplied to the hot water storage tank reaches a first reference hot water amount or not, a trial operation starting process for starting circulation of hot water in an exhaust heat recovery path and a trial operation of a thermoelectric cogeneration device when the amount of hot water supplied to the hot water storage tank reaches the first reference hot water amount, a second determination process for determining whether an amount of hot water supplied to the hot water storage tank reaches a second reference hot water amount or not, and a water supply stopping process for stopping the water supply from the water supply source to the hot water storage tank while continuing the circulation of hot water in the exhaust heat recovery path and the trial operation of the thermoelectric cogeneration device when the amount of hot water supplied to the hot water storage tank reaches the second reference hot water amount.
