<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange heat sources in a longitudinal direction to heat a sheet according to a width thereof, and to reduce device cost by reducing the number of safety devices.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 2 includes: a fixing member 38 which comes into contact with a recording material with an unfixed image carried thereon; a pressure member 30 which forms a fixing nip part with the fixing member; a heat source 31 having a plurality of heating areas formed in a longitudinal direction; and a power source 76 which supplies power to the heat source. First power-supply control means 77 is arranged in wiring between a longitudinal-center heating area 71 and a power source 76. The first power-supply control means 77 and at least another power-supply control means 78 or 79 are arranged in wiring between the power source 76 and heating areas 72, 73 or 74, 75 other than the heating area 71. Power is supplied to the heating areas 72, 73 or 74, 75 only when the power is supplied to the heating area 71.</p> |
